First Response Monitor developed by Cambridge Design Partnership

Army medics have a tough job, attending to casualties in battlefield and disaster situations. See how Cambridge Design Parnership are working to help make their jobs a little easier…

Innova Systems customer and SOLIDWORKS user Cambridge Design Partnership interviewed a range of army medics and have used their feedback to develop The First Response Monitor – a lightweight, hard wearing, yet low cost biometric device for use in disasters and on the battlefield.  The compact device clips onto the patient’s nose, monitoring breathing and heart rate, providing instant measurements for both parameters. This data is added to a trends graph that can be used to assess changes in the patient’s condition.

The ground breaking device will help medics treat more casualties concurrently, transmitting all data to a smartphone/tablet app, enabling further real time data analysis in high pressure situations.
