SIM-01: Introduction to SOLIDWORKS Simulation

This 1 day introductory course is ideally suited to SOLIDWORKS users new to the world of Simulation. In this course, you will learn the skills, knowledge and considerations needed for conducting accurate analyses using the tools available in SOLIDWORKS Premium and SOLIDWORKS Simulation Standard.

Subjects covered:

  • Introduction to the analysis process, pre-processing a study, meshing & post-processing results
  • Mesh controls, stress concentrations, creation of accurate meshes
  • Assembly analysis with contacts
  • Analysis of solids, shells and beams

 

SIM-02: SOLIDWORKS Simulation

This 2 day course is for designers and engineers that may have an awareness of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods and their application to test products in a design and development. This course builds on the fundamental building blocks of SIM-01 and is ideally suited to either SOLIDWORKS Simulation Standard or SOLIDWORKS Premium functionality.

  • Everything in SIM-01 (above)
  • Mixed meshing and incompatible meshes
  • Symmetrical analysis
  • Assembly mesh refinement
  • Design studies and adaptive meshes
  • Thermal stress analysis
  • Large displacement analysis

 

SIM 03: SOLIDWORKS Simulation Motion

This 1 day course concentrates on the functionality contained within SOLIDWORKS Simulation Motion (featured in SOLIDWORKS Premium and Simulation Standard).

Subjects covered:

  • Introduction to motion simulation and forces
  • Building a motion model and post-processing
  • Introduction to contacts, springs and dampers
  • Redundancies
  • Flexible joints
  • Motion optimisation

 

SIM-04: SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional

This 2 day course concentrates on the functionality contained within SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional. Users wishing to take this course are expected to possess SOLIDWORKS design experience and should have attended the SIM-02: SOLIDWORKS Simulation course (above).

  • Thermal analysis

SIM-05: SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium

These courses cover the functionality contained within SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium and ideally assumes that you have attended SIM-04.

SIM-06: SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation

This 2 day course is SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD engineers that want to learn how to harness the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) functionalities in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation.
